Chronological Resume

The chronological resume is the most common format that is used today by many job searchers out there. The reasons are varied as we have found out over the years. Some just want to copy a template off of the web and this format is the first they've seen. Others simply don't know that there are other formats available that may better suit their needs.

Pros: It is beneficial to those who have had a long steady job history and employers have seen this resume style for decades.

Cons: Places more emphasis on the job title and company vs. the person and their skills. It also doesn't showcase well any job breaks or career changes that you may have had.

The chronological format is designed for you to list your work experience by date on your resume and include a few bullet points beneath each position to describe what you have accomplished.
